Speech from Ismail Damar from EHEM Edremit/Turkey for the final meeting:

THANK YOU TRANS-ACTING

We, people, live in a small house called Earth. No matter what our language, religion or nationality is, we have to live together on this World. As humanity, to live together  peacefully, we should love and  be understanding to  each other.

For strong and everlasting relationships we need love. Those words of Mevlana  Celaleddin Rumi throws a light on love and friendship  from centuries ago : Come, Come again !Whatever you are... Our culture , our civilization and our religion emphasize the importance of  humanity love, understanding and peace. So we say ‘ Love the created for the creator’s sake’ . As we have only one and same creator we should be friendly and full of love  and understanding to each other for the sake of that creator.

We can live in peace to achieve World people’s brotherhood, friendship and love. We can let the flowers blossom by being understanding to each other, loving to each other and being respectful to all the differences.

In TransActing Project we have had the chance of seeing beautiful countries and friends. We have made good friendships. We see that we have sisters and brothers in Norway,Poland,Italy and in Germany. We are very pleased to meet you. I hope you feel the same for us. Yes I couldn’t speak English, but I study and I will learn one day.

I couldn’t sympathize with you because  of this maybe. But I just want you know that I love you and I will always love you. We will always be happy to see you as visitors in Turkey. Don’t forget that you have brothers and sisters in Turkey. I hope that the friendship we got along the Project will be ever lasting. This Project has been a bridge between people and we feel happy to walk on this bridge.

As Yunus Emre, one of the biggest Turkish İslamic scholars, said:

Come, let's know each other,
To make things easier
Let's love and be loved,
No one is eternal on this world

Finally, I wish Love,Indulgence and Peace for everybody.  Greetings…

Dziękuję,... takk,  grazie,  danke, teşekkürler and  thank you

Meeting in Italy - written by Wanja from Norway PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 16 April 2012 16:47

During my final year at Brundalen High School, my teacher Astrid was involved in a project called “Trans -Acting”. Early on she told us she might take some of herJames Bondstudents to a meeting that would take place in Italy, but chances weren’t great, so set your expectations accordingly. So imagine my surprise when the decision was finally made; Italy, here we come!

However, there were some restrictions on who could join. Everyone in class wanted a free trip to Italy, of course, but it was a requirement from the project that one would still be a part of the school next year, and this narrowed things down quite a bit. In the end, we were three happy students with a plane ticket to the most beautiful country in the world, going along with three teachers.

Now, this is a project that focuses on multiculturalism to begin with, and the group from Norway was a mixed on what multiculturalism concerns. Guy was from Burma and Dajer from Afghanistan. Even though the project has five different countries participating, none could have foreseen the aspect of multiculturalism we would actually face, and this is one of the reasons I think this project is a good subject for an in-depth study.

Trans-Acting is an EU project focusing on adult students learning English in creative ways. Norway, Poland, Turkey, Germany and Italy were the countries participating, but a far greater aspect of nations was involved.
